Turner Real Estate: Empowering Positive Change Through Homes4Good

The housing crisis has continued to shut out Australians from finding rental homes due to the record-low levels of rental vacancies in the market. Combatting this, Turner Real Estate is thrilled to announce its partnership with Homes4Good, a groundbreaking initiative committed to reshaping property management for a socially responsible purpose.

Turner Real Estate, through the Turner Impact Fund, proudly aligns itself with the driving force behind Homes4Good, Shelter SA–the peak body for housing in South Australia. Shelter SA brings together like-minded organisations and individuals to work collaboratively towards the common goal of making affordable housing a reality for those who need it the most.

At the core of Homes4Good’s mission is a dedication to providing affordable housing options. The rent for Homes4Good properties is set at 75% of the market rate or 30% of the household’s total income, ensuring that families not only secure housing but also have the means to live comfortably after covering their housing costs. This distinctive approach not only addresses immediate housing needs but also fosters long-term financial stability for families in our communities.

Tenants selected for the property undergo a meticulous process, carefully chosen from a waiting list that adheres to upper-income limit criteria. This selection process ensures that families genuinely in need of support find housing through Homes4Good, cultivating a supportive and thriving community.

Turner Real Estate and Shelter SA are looking into whether it will be possible to join the Land Tax Exemption Pilot so that landlords participating in Homes4Good may benefit from land tax concessions as previously seen with Cornerstone SA properties also involved in the scheme.

Being the largest independent property management company in SA, Turner Real Estate looks forward to engaging with the Government to explore potential incentives for homeowners involved in this program.

For more details on the scheme, please visit Homes4Good.

If you have a property that you would like considered for the scheme, please contact our CEO, Emma Slape, and after an initial discussion, she will liaise with Shelter SA to assess how your property can be part of the scheme.
